Perfect Day Pack For Mixed Conditions (★★★★★ 5)
I upgraded from a Hikelite 26 to this. The 26 was very nice but I did want a more robust hip belt and side pockets. Adjustable sizing was nice as the 26 ran a bit higher than I would have liked. It would also help for those with a much shorter torso. For a pack in this liter class, the 28 is really the sweet spot for affordability and practicality when compared to Ospreys higher end packs. While I do have an Atmos (more similar to a Stratos) and love it, the features that it comes with are overkill for what I need from a daypack. 28 is still on the larger side for a daypack but is nice for mixed weather clothing, food, water, fuel, other people's stuff, etc.. Plus you can always simply cinch it down. The only thing I really wish it had was a better system for holding your trekking poles, similar to that which can be found on comparable Gregory packs. It is perfectly manageable as is, but would be a nice polishing touch.

Received yesterday and wore it today for a 7 mile hike with total weight of essentials of 5 pounds. I’m 5.6 and the park fits perfectly, material is good and well constructed, with a good storage capacity for a day hike. One of the best features is the airspeed suspension keeping my back cool. The perimeter frame gives it structure and lays comfortably on my back. As I continued to walk I no longer noticed the weight on my back. My next walk I will add more items to bring the weight up to 10 pounds. I’m now considering purchasing the 26 liters for my plan hike on the Camino Santiago. Love this pack and the color also. Since I’ve just used today didn’t need to clean but I’m sure it will be easy to clean

Great for day hikes. Trampoline back keeps things cool. I did 16 miles in hot weather and my back was not all sweaty. Fits my 100 oz Camel Bak just fine. I would like to see a few dividers or internal pockets.

Nice quality simple hiking backpack with just enough features and able to carry my foldable walking poles and 2 water bottles on outside. Nice small top zipper compartment for easy access items. Comfortable hip belt and adjustable chest strap. 18L is a good size for my 5’6” frame for day hiking. The included rain fly will be useful for upcoming trip to Scotland.
